As a dental hygiene student, passing boards then finding the job of your dreams is always in the back of your mind. Join Heartland Dental and Young Innovations for this live virtual student workshop covering top tips on how to create a killer resume, identify the best ways to begin a career search and hone your interview skills.
- Strategies and Tips for Successful Networking, Interviewing & Relationship Building workshop: students will become familiar with the terms and current practices of interviewing, networking and how to forge business relationships.
- Resume Writing 101: Upon completion of the session, students will be introduced to the basic mechanics of a resume which includes the most essential information to include, as well as, knowing what information should never be included on a resume when trying to get a job interview.
This workshop is presented in partnership with Heartland Dental.

Jill Ulrici, RDH
Jill has been a dental hygienist for 10 years with Heartland Dental. Jill worked with Heartland as a business assistant and dental assistant before hygiene school. she supports practices as a Regional Hygiene Mentor of Operations in Central Illinois and the St Louis, MO area. And more recently, Jill has joined Heartland’s campus recruiting team as clinical support.
Vincent is Campus Partner at Heartland Dental. He is responsible for developing relationships with students, faculty and staff on dental campuses in Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. He is co-creator, co-host and co-producer of Impactful Wisdom Podcast aimed to provide dental students with helpful strategies to succeed in dentistry. With more than 15 years of partnering with early career professionals, he is passionate about working with individuals to achieve their career ambitions. Vincent’s industry experience includes healthcare, airline, higher education, information technology and dental. In addition to serving on several community volunteer boards, Vincent earned his Master of Business of Administration from University of Texas at Dallas and is a current student in Southern Methodist University Simmons schools’ Education Leadership and Policy Ed.D program.
L. Whitney Howerton, RDH, MDH
Whitney is the Clinical Education Manager for Young Innovations, Inc. Whitney has shown her dedication to the dental hygiene profession through multiple leadership roles on a local, state, and national level. She completed her Masters in Dental Hygiene from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Whitney worked full time as a clinical and didactic instructor teaching a wide variety of courses including local anesthesia, head, neck and dental anatomy, special patient care, and advanced instrumentation. Whitney has been featured in familiar dental hygiene publications like Access and Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. She is a past recipient of the Esther Wilkins Future Leader award and a proud member of the ADHA and ADEA.
