One of the never-ending struggles of dental hygiene school is wanting nails that look nice, but not being able to have your nails painted for clinic. I mean, we definitely understand that longer nails can hoard germs and, goodness-sakes, if a nail polish chip were to ever fly into a patient’s mouth … yikes!
But that doesn’t stop us from wanting a pretty pink for spring or some black nails in the fall!
Though it’s not feasible for most of us (no matter how many pre-moistened nail-polish-removing-pads we have in our purse), one thing is: nude nail polishes!
Nude nail polish may seem boring, but Dental Hygiene Nation and Young are here to show you that there are many different shades of nude polishes to ensure you’re never feeling bored with your DH-approved-mani!
We’ve collaborated to show off some of our faves, with both at-home traditional polish and gel/shellac colors if you’re heading into the salon!
Let’s start with the traditional at-home polishes, as they’re a great way to keep your hands lookin’ good … even on a budget!
This beautiful nude color with gray undertones is an oldie but goodie! Swipe on a coat or two during the week and then transform your mani with a few more coats after clinic on Friday for a more dramatic weekend look.
This nude polish has pink undertones with a bit of a shimmer; one coat of it will have you feeling both girly and professional!
This polish has a hint of yellow undertones, which makes it work well with olive to medium skin tones, but will look great on any aspiring hygienist’s nails!
This creamy, light brown tone is perfect for deeper skin tones, but again, any dental babe can rock this color!
If you’re a salon go-er, check out some of these gel/shellac shades for a perfect, natural look that your professors and instructors will approve of!
This chip-free polish will give you a nice, light look perfect for any season and for any skin tone! Plus, the name is pretty adorable, too.
This color is a beautiful, barely-there look! It gives your natural nail color the perfect amount of neutral color and shine.
This beautiful color has a faint mauve color that will easily add a feminine touch to an otherwise bland manicure.
Remember, Dental Babes: we are constantly washing our hands and wearing gloves, so it’s important to keep your cuticles and hands moisturized for a perfect naturally manicured look! Did we miss your favorite neutral nail polish? Upload a picture of your mani and tag us to let us know about it!
